Director General-Chief Designer

LEONID I. PONOMAREV
Director general – chief designer of  UPKB "Detal", full member of the International Informatization Academy and the International Real Economics Academy.

    Leonid I. Ponomarev was born on July 21, 1949 in Kamensk-Uralskiy, Sverdlovsk region. In March 1967 he took a job of a fitter at Detal Ural Design Bureau. In 1975 he graduated from S. M. Kirov Ural Polytechnical Institute trained for a radio engineer.
    During his labor activity in UPKB "Detal" Leonid Ponomarev took part in a number of developments. He is chief designer of several design projects carried out by  the Design Bureau.
    In 1984 he took a course at the Institute for Improvement of Qualifications for executives and specialists of the USSR Ministry of Radio-electronic industry. In 1987 he improved his proficiency in specialization of “Up-to-date computers and their application”.
    Since 1998 Leonid Ponomarev has been director general – designer general of UPKB "Detal". In 2001 he was appointed chief designer of the Russian Agency on Control Systems in a technical field – onboard radar altimeters and radar altimeter systems.
    Leonid Ponomarev has 40 works including 5 inventor’s certificates, 1 patent and 3 applications. The main scientific and creative activities are ground radiolocation and information content expansion of complex radio electronic systems.
    He was decorated with the Badge of Honor, Medal in Memory of 850-anniversary of Moscow, Title of Honored Mechanical Engineer and Badge of Honored Radio Operator.
    Management achievements of Leonid Ponomarev and his business activity have been commended with prizes of international organizations – Medal of Business leader-2000 and Title of Director of 2001. In 2001 he was elected a full member of the International Informatization Academy, and in 2003 he became a member of the International Real Economics Academy.
