History

The history of "Krasny Gidropress" JSC began in May 1903, when the first stone in the foundation of a plant of Robert Keber, German industrialist, was laid in Taganrog (Rostov region). The official date of the company’s foundation is August 27, 1907, when “Keber & Co” enterprise set up production of its main products: oil-presses and casting equipment.
After revolutionary reforms in Russia in 1917 the whole industry of the country was nationalized. In February 1918 “Keber & Co” company was also passed to the State ownership.
The enterprise was renamed into "Krasny Maslopres" headed by D. M. Rudenko, its former specialist.
The name "Krasny Gidropress" that still remains was given to the plant in 1927. In the 1930s the enterprise continued increasing the output of equipment for oil mills and casting.
In June 1941, simultaneously with the beginning of World War II, the plant was reorientated to manufacturing of defense products and operated 24 hours a day. However, because of the front line approaching  to Taganrog, in autumn the enterprise was evacuated to Kazakhstan where the operation was quickly resumed.
After Taganrog’s liberation on August 30, 1943 the restoration work at "Krasny Gidropress" was under way. The damage done by the envaders was worth 46 million rubles. Z. Nevinny was appointed director of the plant. In September 1943 under his leadership industrial school  No.18 was opened to train workers.
When the war was over, the team of the enterprise started a full-scale restoration. In 1947 A. B. Chimbir took post of director of the plant and continued to revive  and expand the facilities. As a result, in November 1957 "Krasny Gidropress" was decorated with Honorary diploma of Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of RSFSR and Presidium of All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions.
In 1968 V. T. Yanchenko was appointed director of the plant. There was a new stage of the enterprise development: the period of technical reequipping and development of new defense, industrial and consumer products. The share of “Quality mark” products reached 60 per cent. In February 1976 Krasny Gidropress was decorated with the Badge of Honour. Defense and civil production were streamlined, new technologies were introduced.
The years of restructuring, disintegration of the country and economic recess were very hard for the enterprise as well as for the whole Russian industry. The lack of state orders, rupture of relations with many suppliers and customers resulted in the situation when the plant was under external control according to judgment of arbitration court (since February 7, 1997).  Vladimir V. Dyomkin was appointed external manager. He managed to revive the enterprise from a deep stagnation. As a result, next year output increased by 600% and production of new types of products was set up.
The arbitral management was over on October 8, 1998 and the plant was considered financially independent.  Vladislav Dyomkin took post of director general. In 1999 at the International Industrial Property Salon in Moscow the enterprise was decorated with “Gold Medal” for development of new generation electric motors.
January 24, 2002, is a landmark in the history of "Krasny Gidropress". Under the presidential decree the enterprise  became a subsidiary of  Tactical Missiles Corporation JSC. On the top of it, on September 19, 2002 Regional committee on federal estate administration passed a resolution  No. 74 on privatization of the pant and on October 9, 2003 it was reorganized into a joint stock company "Krasny Gidropress".
Nowadays "Krasny Gidropress" JSC is the largest multi-industrial engineering company on the south of Russia. It manufactures ship-based arms for ships and vessels, mine sweeps, various devices used both in defense and civil areas, heat exchangers and heaters, gas security automatic systems and equipment for nuclear power stations.
Today the enterprise reconstructs and renews its production facilities with quickened pace to efficiently fulfill increased orders. It masters production of new high-tech types of equipment. Besides, the advanced metalworking technologies of laser cutting have been introduced and new production sections have been set up.
